Seahorses have strong vision, with special eyes that can work independently. Thus, seahorses can look forward and backward at the same time.

The boney nature of Seahorse is a safeguard and represents protection. Not being the best of swimmers, Seahorse moves slowly from spot to spot, only using its tail as an anchor in stormy seas. This represents patience, serenity and persistence.

Seahorse teaches parental harmony, how to connect with the Masculine Divinity, and how to navigate difficult times easily.

Seahorses are an emblematic species for marine conservation and help protect the habitats they are found in (mangroves, coral reefs, estuaries, seagrasses, and seaweeds).

Used for pseudo-medicinal purposes in China, Japan, and Korea, as they are believed to treat asthma, sexual dysfunctions, and pain. Additionally, they are illegally caught for pet trade, but seahorses do not fare well in captivity and often die quickly.

The Artist would like to bring the attention that Seahorses are listed under Appendix II, recognizing that they may become threatened with extinction unless trade is closely controlled.
